I am an artist, a quilt maker, and a writer. My work falls under the broad (lol) canopy of “women’s work” and I am intentionally digging into what it means to look at that work through a queer, non-binary lens. I often work in unconventional methods and reclaimed materials to achieve pieces that represent my experiences and interests as a German-American midwestern lesbian. But sometimes, too, I just make socks because I have cold feet. You can see more of my work here.

This is where I share my writing, insights into my art practice, and finished work. I also occasionally send out a note if I’m organizing a raffle or a quilting bee.

My writing focuses on queer joy and the pleasure of handwork and I try to share my knowledge about both generously. The resulting publication is a sort of ongoing memoir told through my work.

I share my more laborious and technical posts with a small group of paid subscribers. Paid subscriptions make it possible for me to spend time writing.

I write about quilts, trees, Lake Michigan, gay things, wool, and life as an artist.
