On the porch fat squirrels are busy peeling back the moss in the last nasturtium pot so they can deposit hard, green tomatoes directly into the soil. I’ve been leaving them all manner of nourishment as I empty the cupboards- desiccated dates, a handful of flax seeds, apple cores, and ropey squash innards.
