Check out "A Student of Weather" by Elizabeth Hay! I also just read "The Master Butchers Singing Club" by Louise Erdrich, which is not Canadian but is incredibly good and in this vein of books.
Just got back from the quilt show at BAMPFA — wow! Couldn’t even take in it all and will have to go back. Will also have to go back to see Transmissions at the BPL. Thx so much for the recommendations!
I was also this type of child reader! Very grateful for the Boogie Bang. I use My Analog Journal's youtube channel this way.
Oh wow, MAJ's channel is a real gift, thank you Rachel!!
Babe!!!!!
Fall On Your Knees is magnificent. I also loved The Way the Crow Flies. I'm now searching Canadian Devastationism as a genre.

I ADORE Louise Erdrich, and MBSC was my gateway into her work. I haven't hear of Elizabeth Hay - adding to the TBR immediately. TYSM!
Thanks for the recommendation, A Student of Weather was wonderful!
Oh I'm so glad you enjoyed it!!
That quilt show is so amazing!! I wish I could see it, I yearn for more quilts-as-art in my city
