The violets tend to take over my garden, so today I started picking all the flowers to preserve in honey. It's the sweetest harvest <3

I've been a long time reader here, Grace, but haven't commented. I just noticed a clump of violets coming up in our yard yesterday. Thanks to Omaha, Nebraska's incredibly short springs, everything is blooming here all at once. It's overwhelming and wonderful. Thank you for your posts.

Here we have daffodils, swamp maples, and wood anemone, onions and peas are planted in the garden. And the garlic is up and looking happy! I've been mending a pair of beloved overalls, lots of slow and small stitches. Thank you as always for your writing.

I am exhausted! End of semester and end of first trimester has wiped me. While I am thrilled to be having a baby, the struggle the first few months put me through was…a lot. Grateful for a good partner to lean on. I feel like I have not been able to break out of the brain rot. I can feel myself addicted to screens and fast dopamine hits after the exhaustion of teaching. May end up doing another digital detox this summer. Your work is grounding, as always. Thank you for sharing 🫶

I've been stalking the violets on the verge of a farm road I sometimes take the dogs. I want to try catch them when their seed pods are ready but not sure I'll spot them easily/or remember, without the flowers peeking out and reminding me. I did the same with sweet Cicely last year but then ne er remembered to to sow the seeds. They lived in a pocket for a while, before being put on my bedroom window sill for sade keeping. They're still there now.

The exhaustion is real.
